This image related with April 2011 Miyagi earthquake. After the 11th March 2011 Tōhoku earthquake, huge amount of aftershocks and naming issue the image was orphan. If possible Please use with the article. Otherwise just delete it. We are uploaded the image with in 14 minutes of the April 2011 Miyagi earthquake. Delete - They have deprecated this service and you can now use http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/ to make a nicer map. This image isn't really usable because of the UI elements around it, but you could use the new service to make a map from the same time frame (without the UI elements) and that might be a nice addition to the article. --B (talk) 15:23, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Plus the pottery shapes displayed in the image are not the subject of commentary in the article, so there's no reason why a free image displaying only some of the varieties would not serve the same purpose. Image of a brochure being used under a claim of fair use to show examples of the article subject's pottery. According to the article, his pottery is still on display in the Leach Pottery museum and so a free image that serves the equivalent purpose of this brochure could be created. I uploaded this. The brochure is a historic document, illustrating the full range of pottery in production 45 years ago. The pottery has closed and only a few examples of its work are on display in the museum. I don't have the time to research copyright law, so I'm unable to justify its inclusion. Please see WP:NFCC. Though under the law, we could use this image under a claim of fair use all day long, Wikipedia has a fair use policy far more restrictive than the United States law is. We only use those images under a claim of fair use where nobody with ordinary effort could produce a free equivalent. Since the museum exists and has examples of his work, someone could reasonably be expected to go to that museum with a camera and take pictures. - That's a non-copyright restriction. See v:Museum photography#House rules: legal and psychological aspects. I'm not sure if a photo rule would be enough grounds for declaring that an image is irreplaceable.   - Removing replaceable images is not a copyright restriction either. In order to remove an image because of Wikipedia:NFCC#1 you need a reasonable way to create an alternative. As of today we have no free equivalent, and there is no way to have one if the museum doesn't allow to take photos at all in their premises, which you don't know, so you have no plan to replace it either. Also in this case it seems that the museum does have a claim of copyright on the exposed artifacts - these are not ancient vessels. Diego (talk) 09:44, 24 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    - According to WP:FAIR, the burden of proof is on those seeking to retain the fair use content, not on those who seek to remove it. It's not up to me to prove that the museum allows photography. I've given a reasonable suggestion for how a free alternative could be created.       - The museum states on its website "We also have a small collection of our own including examples of standardware." The image in question illustrates the complete range of standardware c.1960/5. That's mostly WP:OTHERTHINGSEXIST. See numerous other discussions, for example Wikipedia:Media copyright questions/Archive/2012/February#Fair use of sport uniform images. The image has been taken from [1] and someone else can replace the image by doing a freely licensed drawing of the same clothes. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:23, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
